Wow, I can't believe someone actually came.
Of course someone came, Yolei. There's quite a simple explaination for that . . .
After thoroughly analyzing various site statistics and examining the trends in character grouping popularity, Ken and I have discovered that we, along with yourself, are among the most sought after character combination triangle, tied with Matt, Sora, and Tai.
Well, I guess that's true. But don't you think that maybe they just came because they wanted to know what some of the fanfic terms mean?
It's an interesting hypothesis . . .
And quite plausible. Izzy and I must go and investigate your theory further.
Oh no, you're not leaving me here to do the glossary on my own. You can investigate and hypothesize after we're done.

Abbreviations

AN: Authors Notes. Usually found at the beginning or end of the story, this is the place where authors defend the plotloops, thank people for reading, rebut flames, and talk about whatever they want. Most of the time, they basically just consist of a crazy non-sensical rant, though.

OOC: Out of Character, it's self explanitory.

Fanfic (or just fic) A shortform of Fan Fiction - fan created stories containing the characters of their favorite show, book, or movie. In this case it's digimon.

ff.net The shortform for fanfiction.net, a huge fan fiction site.

DD: Digidestined.

Terms

Lemon: *blushes* Why do I have to define this?
Because it's your turn, why? Don't you know what it means?
Yeah, sure I do, it's just that . . .

Songfic: A story that is structured around the lyrics of a song.
Sure, you get a non-embarrasing definition . . .
Take it like a man.
I can't wait to see what you get to define.

Canon/Non-canon: Canon is something that happened in the actual series/movie, while non-canon is something that never actually occured except in this authors story. For example, something canon is the fact that Sora and Matt got together. An example of non-canon would be if someone wrote that Tai died when we were fighting Myotismon.

Yaoi: Why do I keep getting these weird definitions? Yaoi is a male x male fic.
Again, I'm curious to know how you . . .
*sweatdrops* Don't even start.

Disclaimer: The part where the author admits that they don't own us or Bandai or Toei to avoid getting sued/tracked down by the digimon lawyers.

Yuri: Female x female fics. You don't really see a lot of these with Digimon.

Depending on whether you watch the Japanese or English version, fanfics can get confusing if they use the names you're not used to.
